Assisi, Italy  Day 9, 10

 

I decided to relax in Assisi... and I did. I wanted to rest up for my days in Rome. When we arrived I was in my room when the sun was going down, I have been in some odd places on my trip during sunsets and some of the photos have been outstanding. The sunset was amazing from my room. (See photos)

 

During the evening I decided to have a picnic at La Bottega dei Sopori owned by Fabrizio. FABULOUS time - highly recommend! When Fabrizio started to escort me to the back of his store - my first thought was "Were is he taking me? There is no where to go?" In the back, there was a couple already there having a picnic.It was a wonderfully fun close dining area. (See Photo) Had fun chatting with the couple from Virginia and dining on my own. I could not finish what food was given to me. Meats, bread, balsamic, chocolates! Challenge accomplished!

The next afternoon, a couple from the group was going to SAIO vineyards for a tour and picnic. They were waiting for the taxi and invited me. What a fun spontanious time... it rained and we had to picnic inside but it didn't matter I was in Italy! Beautiful views of Assisi and vineyards. The host at SAIO was superb... she paired the wine with cheeses, breads, meats and desserts. A relaxing afternoon. Challenge accomplished!
