Veranna, Italy  Day 3, 4

I learned to relax in this beautiful little town. I enjoyed strolling the narrow lanes, harbor and eating gelato at Gelateria Riva. You will see through many of my photos that I became obessed with clinging ivy, wrought iron, doorways, and drinking fountains. They seemed wonderfully peaceful. I ate a sandwich for dinner at a little shop while standing up and chatted with the locals. A great time. Again rainy and cloudy skies but it didn't matter I was in Italy...

The next day, I explored Villa Carlotta and Bellagio, Italy using the ferry system - which was a challenge within itself. A lovely australian women helped me understand how they worked. When in Bellagio, I
ate at a charming snack bar (Hotel Metropole) that over looked the lake. (See photo) Next I explored Villa Melzi Gardens - wonderful relaxing walk. In Italy, you make sure that you use the restroom when you eat or at museums. I was hoping the gardens would have a restroom. It didn't or I missed it. I was in trouble. Quick thinking I went back to where I ate lunch and pretended I just got done eating. Challenge accomplished!

I also took a walk to Punta Spartivento (point that divides the winds.) Sitting at La Punta Ristorante drinking a glass of wine I could see Menaggio, Varenna and at the end of the lake to the Swiss Alps. I couldn't stop smiling... my heart was happy... challenge accomplished!
